About The Position

Hi, I’m Carrie, looking for a Summer 2026 Metallurgy Intern. Who Am I? I am passionate about product quality, data analysis, and discovering the best ways to make titanium. What Do We Do? Business Unit: Process & Routing We use a combination of data, technical expertise, positive attitude, and a "go-and-see" mindset to find process improvements and keep our customers happy. Ongoing Projects Yield improvement projects; Operations support; manufacturing process development Your Role as an Intern You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting the following tasks: Using internal data, show current product diameters and amount of surface removal, then recommend a consolidated number of sizes and associated yields given the new, smaller offerings of diameters. This would help show a target condition for wire operations: a more manageable number of die sizes, which would ensure die availability at all times, which would then lead to fewer defects and better product yield. Other ideas: 1. Compile rolling mill data (currently in various electronic systems) to help create a unified ""recipe"" for rolling all alloys and sizes. Further use mill process data to validate these recipes. 2. With lab and/or R&D assistance, begin a library of ductility data (either Gleeble or hot tension tests) to show optimal hot ductility range (i.e. min and max temperatures) for the rolling mill. These data establish best practice for billet temperature and therefore product quality. Can also help determine best mill parameters for new alloys." Our Value Proposition - This position will allow you to develop and build expertise in the following core skills: Adaptability – You will track, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success, while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Problem Solving – Develop your critical thinking and analytical skills to assess safety in the manufacturing environment, recommend solutions or next steps, and identify best practices to achieve the value of ZERO injuries. Active Learner – Ability and appetite to learn quickly is critical as you expand your knowledge and build your skill sets. Communication – Create effective verbal and written communications in and across project teams. Organize and present results to small and large audiences throughout the organization. Collaboration – You will work closely with multiple departments and teams on the manufacturing floor, requiring strong partnership skills.
