Position Summary A metallurgical lab technician plays a crucial role in examining and testing metal samples to determine their physical properties. The technician will be responsible for all heat treatment of the parts as deemed necessary, and as per specifications called for by PROENERGY standards and/or the engineering team. Reports To: ARM Supervisor Work Location: 6401 North Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041 Position Responsibilities Prepare specimens by cutting, mounting, polishing, and etching metal samples. Ensure that the samples are ready for further analysis. Examine the sample by using optical microscopy equipment. Measure properties such as hardness, strength, flexibility, and other relevant characteristics. Apply and understand customer and industry specification and requirements. Follow guidelines to ensure accurate and consistent results. Interpret data and collaborate with other technicians to maintain the quality result. Ensure the reliability of materials used in various applications. All other duties as called for by management.
