About The Position

KMB Metals is a high-end architectural metal fabricator specializing in custom stainless steel, brass, bronze, and aluminum elements for luxury residential spaces. We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manual and CNC machining, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in producing exceptional, one-of-a-kind architectural components.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Machinist or Toolmaker in a custom fabrication or job shop environment.
  • Proficiency with both manual and CNC machines.
  • Strong understanding of metalworking properties, tolerances, and finishing processes.
  • Ability to work independently from blueprints and CAD models.
  • Strong math and measurement skills with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
  • Commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in architectural, ornamental, or custom fabrication environments.
  • Experience machining complex, aesthetic parts for architectural or artistic installations.
  • TIG welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC milling machines, lathes, and related equipment to produce precision parts and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, shop drawings, and CAD files.
  • Machine components from a variety of metals, including stainless steel, brass, bronze, and aluminum.
  • Work with fabricators and welders to ensure proper fitment and alignment of machined parts within assemblies.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Perform basic programming, tool changes, and offset adjustments as required.
  • Maintain equipment through routine cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and design team to optimize production processes and tolerances.
