About The Position

Metal Fabricator Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our trade show exhibit production team. The ideal candidate will have experience reading technical drawings, cutting, welding, and assembling metal components used in the construction of custom trade show booths, displays, and event structures. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Fabricate, weld, and assemble aluminum and steel structures according to shop drawings and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and shop schematics to determine layout and measurements. Operate metalworking tools and machinery such as saws, shears, brakes, grinders, and MIG/TIG welders. Measure, cut, and fit components to ensure high-quality, accurate assemblies. Perform finishing work, including grinding, sanding, and cleaning of fabricated parts. Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and booth builders to integrate metal components into complete displays. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client specifications. Work overtime or weekends as production schedules require.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of metal fabrication experience, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding (aluminum and steel).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience fabricating for trade show booths, stage structures, or custom displays.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Knowledge of CNC or laser cutting equipment.
