About The Position

An Operations Lead is responsible for directly supervising employees in a specific department or a specific shift while fulfilling the regular duties of the assigned shift/department. They are responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly during their shift; communicating and problem-solving with other leaders.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft.
  • Ability to motivate and guide others to ensure performance in accordance with clear expectations and goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic and pay attention to details.
  • Ability to lead and support quality, safety, and policy standards.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to pass forklift certification test and drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise team performance and productivity, supporting individual training and development.
  • Work in assigned areas to support the needs of the shift and/or the department to ensure quality production and on-time order fulfillment.
  • Encourage teamwork and communication among all Shurco operations.
  • Train, oversee and coach employees, helping to resolve work-related problems and informing the manager as needed.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by training and monitoring employees’ use of equipment.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Identify and communicate production and inventory challenges, working with other leaders to resolve issues.
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Operate a forklift, as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
