About The Position

Skillforce is seeking skilled Metal Building Erectors for commercial and industrial projects in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. This role involves the assembly, installation, and finishing of pre-engineered metal buildings and structural steel systems. Candidates should have a strong background in commercial or industrial construction and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. This is a contract to hire role, working up to 50 hours a week, and pay is up to $30/hr depending upon experience. The ideal candidate will be bilingual and can speak English and Spanish fluently.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in metal building erection, steel work, or related construction field preferred.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
Comfortable working at heights and on elevated platforms.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
Strong work ethic and reliability with the ability to work 40+ hours per week.
Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.

Responsibilities

Assemble and erect pre-engineered metal building systems, including steel framing, wall panels, and roof systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Bolt, weld, or rivet structural components as required.
Operate lifts, hoists, and other construction equipment safely.
Install insulation, siding, trim, and related building components.
Follow all OSHA and company safety standards on the job site.
Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and fellow crew members to meet project deadlines.
