We shine in our industry with unsurpassed design integrity, commitment to quality, and budget stewardship. Forté Specialty Contractors is looking for our next Metal and Fabrication Estimator. This role will prepare budgets and bids for all projects pertaining to the fabrication process, prepare responses to project solicitations, and actively spearhead the business development of our fabrication clientele. This position is based in Las Vegas, NV.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of estimating and cost control-related experience (direct experience with the Las Vegas area strongly preferred).
  • 5+ years of working with artisan metals, fabrication means and methods, and conceptual estimating.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree.
  • Must be detail-oriented, technically sound and have good communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with both conceptual, detailed, and self-perform estimating.
  • Experience with varied project delivery methods (Lump Sum Hard Bid, Progressive GMP, Target-Value Design, etc.).
  • Operational and/or experience in the construction industry required.

Nice To Haves

  • Field, Theming, and Wall + Ceiling experience.
  • Experience working with major hospitality and/or entertainment groups strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare project time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Lead or perform estimates for various types of fabrication work. This includes (but is not limited to):
  • Residential work.
  • Commercial work.
  • Specialty projects such as:
  • One-off pieces of custom art.
  • Theme Park pieces for major media/entertainment companies.
  • Unique hospitality venues and pieces.
  • Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualifications.
  • Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and project strategies.
  • Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids.
  • Negotiate scopes of work with subcontractors through mutual acceptance.
  • Review the total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness before formal quotation.
  • Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs.
  • Engage in ongoing dialogue with Operations teams for continual process improvement.
  • Prepare and present information to management and clients clearly and concisely.
  • Build and maintain a database of prequalified subcontractors and consultants.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
