Requirements

• A High School Diploma/GED is required
• Must complete Praxair Metallurgical Technician Training and maintain certification
• Minimum of 5 years' related lab experience
• Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends and holidays as needed
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pass a vision test

Responsibilities

• Prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples)
• Prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups)
• Prepare and evaluate physical properties (e.g. Hardness - Micro and Macro)
• Perform set-ups and operate a variety of standard lab equipment, while adhering to prescribed methods of operation
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment
• Order all Met Lab supplies including polishing suspensions, grit paper, etc.
• Perform quality evaluations of standard coatings in a timely manner, identifying problem areas and reporting results to appropriate individuals
• Accurate record keeping for all of the above
