About The Position

NPR of America, Inc. is a premier Tier I and Tier II supplier of precision piston rings serving both OEM and aftermarket segments worldwide. The Met Lab Quality Technician performs metallurgical and performance testing on piston rings to ensure product quality and process reliability. This role is responsible for conducting tests, analyzing results, maintaining lab equipment, and supporting quality investigations and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in metals or automotive
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic analysis)
• Ability to read and interpret technical data; blueprint reading preferred
• Must be able to perform job duties in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Selected candidates must successfully complete pre-employment requirements, which may include a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

• Basic understanding of piston ring processes is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Conduct metallurgical and performance testing to evaluate product quality
• Prepare samples and molds for testing and analysis
• Perform chemical and dimensional testing and record results accurately
• Analyze test data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Generate reports including charts, tables, and findings to support corrective actions
• Calibrate and troubleshoot testing equipment in both lab and production environments
• Maintain sample retention and data records for lot control and traceability
• Interpret test results and collaborate with management to resolve quality concerns
• Develop and support work instructions and lab procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe lab environment and support continuous improvement efforts
