About The Position

Works under direct supervision to be responsible for all incoming and outgoing
mail and the dispersal of such mail to their respective Shelby County Offices.

Pay Grade: 41H

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience; AND
• High school diploma or possess a GED
• PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
• Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license or secure one by date of employment.
• Must pass physical examination

Responsibilities

• Delivers mail to the various Shelby County Offices
• Collects all outgoing mail from various Shelby County Offices
• Sorts all outgoing mail for delivery to designated pickup locations
• Processes certified and registered mail, including physical transport to the Post Office
• Handles oversized packages that exceed internal scale capacities by delivering them directly to the Post Office
• Allocates postage costs by calculating usage per department
• Generates comprehensive mail activity reports from Postal system
• Inspects and verifies postage meter
• Performs other related duties as required or directed
