However, all applications will be considered. We are searching for the best talent for MES Technician II. Under general direction, provides technical support and advice to manufacturing users. Supports the department that manages and monitors manufacturing execution systems and manufacturing support systems and analyzes problems or malfunctions to ensure timely resolution. Assists in the coordination of corrective actions with Systems Engineering as appropriate. Documents problems and their resolution. Ensures the operational integrity of all changes to the operational environment.

Requirements

  • Generally, Requires 2-4 Years Work Experience
  • High school education, G.E.D. or equivalent skills, experience, or training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical school in microcomputers (hardware and software specialist) or equivalent skills, experience, or training.
  • Computer and database management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the Adaptiv system.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware.
  • Understanding of database entity diagrams.
  • Diagnostic and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of completing job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Oracle Databases.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL programming language.
  • Intermediate understanding of Label generation.
  • Intermediate understanding of Label printing.
  • Intermediate Understanding of ERP system.
  • Intermediate Understanding of Camstar Modeling.
  • Basic knowledge of Visual Basic.

Responsibilities

  • Populates, maintains and coordinates changes to MES databases.
  • Works with user departments to implement improvements, procedures and systems.
  • Audits data integrity and database completeness.
  • Generates and develops standard and ad hoc reports, charts and graphs.
  • Works closely with and supports information retrieval and presentation needs.
  • Helps determine need, devise methodologies and retrieve necessary information for analytical purposes.
  • Works with user departments to implement procedures and system changes.
  • Assists with the planning, design and implementation of data management projects.
  • Assists with special database and research projects.
  • Provide first level CIM / MES (Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Manufacturing Execution Systems, Camstar and Label Verification) support for hardware or software failures.
  • Trains employees in the operation and procedures of the CIM / MES system in the Athens and Cornelia plants.
  • Provides end-user support of the CIM / MES system during day-to-day operation.
  • Supports CIM / MES equipment and installations.
  • Provides assistance to roll out system upgrades.
  • Maintains and restores CIM / MES software.
  • Supports CIM / MES Engineers in upgrading system documentation.
  • Supports CIM / MES Engineers in the design and development of CIM / MES systems modifications.
  • Supports Engineers in conducting CIM / MES software qualifications.
  • Performs and documents CIM / MES related PMs (Planned Maintenance) on equipment.
  • Associates in this position are required to be "on call" as defined in the "On Call Policy" and the Fair Labor Standards Act and are required by management to respond to emergency or essential work situations based on established departmental schedules.
  • Creates basic CIM / MES reports using database-reporting tools for multi table applications.
  • Creates basic web-based reports.
  • Implements minor upgrades to the CIM / MES system.
  • Handles routine administration of the CIM / MES system with minor support for day-to-day operation (enforcement and compliance of CIM / MES procedure).
  • Configures the CIM / MES system for variable/attribute sampling plans, tooling, recipe management modules and Camstar modeling objects for Employees, Workstations, Print Queues and Workflows.
  • Initiates and completes Adaptiv documentation changes.
  • Supports CIM and MES Interfaces to ERP systems.
  • Maintains a Basic knowledge of Visual Basic.
  • Works in a team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.
  • Complies with all federally regulated programs.
  • Adheres to J&J environmental and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Complies with all job-specific safety procedures and utilizes PPE, when necessary.
  • Complies with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.
  • Uses test equipment (Starrett Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope, etc.) where applicable.
  • Utilizes applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g., ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, etc.)
  • Consistently meets required work performance targets (RE's), if applicable.
  • Supports LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.
  • Supports Maintenance Excellence methodologies including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
  • Accurately completes records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).
  • Consistently meets required Training due date targets.
  • Maintains track of all CIM / MES supplies.
  • Creates Change Requests (CR) and Change Orders (CO) using Adaptiv.
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and in a safe working condition.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator.
  • Supports Plant Diversity Process.
  • Supports manufacturing in the day-to-day troubleshooting by participates on Integrated Production Teams (IPT).
  • Supports ETHICON Production System (EPS) by identifying, evaluating and resolving problems.
  • Writes CSV documents as part of management life cycle documentation for the CIM / MES system upgrades.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
