The IM MAKE MES Program is a global business transformation initiative aimed at modernizing and harmonizing batch execution processes into a single Manufacturing Execution System (MES) application standard. This hybrid position, located in Spring House, PA, with alternate locations in Raritan, NJ, and Gent Belgium, supports the standardized deployment of MES across the Advanced Therapies Supply Chain (ATSC) sites as part of the IM MAKE MES Program. The ATSC MES Program Lead is accountable for the deployment of the future state end-to-end MES solution, leading site-based project managers and supported by a global team of Subject Matter Experts in batch record modeling, automation integration, business standardization, and quality. This role is part of the Digital Operations and Technical Services (DOTS) organization, working across all program functions and global teams to ensure smooth implementation, including solution readiness, business readiness, and transition to end-state. The lead is also responsible for project management and governance, serving as a primary conduit to Business Sponsors/Leads across PMO, JJT, and other collaborators to achieve program objectives, manage interdependencies, and mitigate risks. The role includes financial oversight of a $75–$100 million program budget.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, IT, or another related field.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
Deep knowledge of MES deployment strategy and processes.
Solid understanding of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Proven hands-on project management/delivery.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, with consistent track record to influence/collaborate to get to desired result.
People management experience.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
Strength in interdependent partnering and team management is required.
The ability to effectively manage projects, timelines, and change management is required.
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms is required.
Ability to embed a culture of harmonization and process improvement and value creation across the business is required.

Responsibilities

Provides financial stewardship for the program within ATSC by partnering with cross‑functional teams to validate the overall program BP/LRFP and project‑level cost estimates.
Helps ensure investment assumptions are consistently developed in alignment with global standards, best practices, and current site needs.
Collaborates with site project leads to develop aligned, integrated project plans, timelines, and clearly defined results.
Collaborates across sites and programs to identify and navigate interdependencies, risks, and challenges, partnering with collaborators to establish controls, effective cadence, and mitigation strategies.
Partners closely alongside site project leads support local deployment and enable consistent, predictable project execution aligned with planned outcomes.
Supports the delivery of meaningful value by helping sites and the broader program achieve their intended objectives.
Contributes to the growth and efficiency of the global program team by building capabilities aligned with ATSC priorities and local site needs while driving standardization where appropriate.
Supports balanced cost‑benefit decision‑making by aligning site business priorities with global standards and long‑term value.
Partners with cross‑functional collaborators (including JJT, DOTS, QA, BE, and IM MAKE MES program members) to achieve project and program objectives, advance standardization, and drive cost improvements.
Works collaboratively with peers to align resources, timelines, and budgets across areas of responsibility, and partners with Transcend program representatives to address interdependencies and align on resolution approaches.
Develops and delivers clear, engaging program updates for senior leaders, providing insight into program progress, trends, and future outlook.
