For more information, click here. The MES Lead is responsible for the deployment, integration, and support of the Manufacturing Execution System within the organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that MES solutions are effectively implemented to improve manufacturing processes, enhance productivity, and ensure data integrity and compliance. The MES Lead provide support and optimize automated systems to enhance efficiency and streamline processes for NA Sites, special focus in the Guelph Site. Driving and delivering optimal cost, quality, and compliance for the manufacturing systems. In close collaboration with the Automation Support Team, Engineering, Operations, Packaging, and site Leadership Team, this position serves as the primary point of contact for end-to-end NA MAKE MES System through project delivery and ongoing maintenance and Operations support of the internal production site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of MES implementation and support experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production execution systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with MES platforms (e.g., AVEVA, PASX).
  • Proven experience integrating MES with ERP and automation systems.
  • Strong project management background (planning, execution, risk management).
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
  • Automation and systems engineering foundation; ability to develop and customize scripts/solutions.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and lead technical teams.
  • English fluency in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Takes ownership and is accountable for deliverables and outcomes.
  • Represents the department in cross‑functional and external interactions.
  • Strong communicator with ability to explain complex topics at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation & Deployment Lead end‑to‑end MES project execution, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery. Configure and customize MES solutions to meet functional and operational requirements. Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • System Integration Integrate MES with ERP, PLM, SCADA, and automation systems. Ensure accurate, consistent data exchange between MES and enterprise systems. Partner with IT, automation, and site engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Process Improvement Identify and implement improvement opportunities across manufacturing operations. Use MES capabilities to optimize processes, minimize downtime, and enhance quality. Develop SOPs and standardize MES solutions across all supported sites.
  • Support & Maintenance Provide ongoing troubleshooting and technical support for all MES systems. Perform routine system audits and ensure optimal system performance. Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements; support 24/7 operations across NA sites.
  • Training & Documentation Deliver training to end‑users, engineers, and cross‑functional partners. Create and maintain system documentation, training materials, and user guides.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure MES meets all regulatory, industry, and internal compliance requirements. Conduct quality checks to maintain system reliability and data integrity.
  • Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor MES analysts and specialists, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Partner with teams across North America to support multi‑site projects and digital initiatives.
