About The Position

Catalyx is seeking a skilled MES Engineer to join our automation and manufacturing systems team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the integration, configuration, and support of the SyncAID Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to ensure seamless production operations, data integrity, and process optimization. This role requires strong technical expertise in MES, control systems, and plant automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MES implementation and integration, preferably with SyncAID.
  • Hands-on experience with DeltaV DCS configuration and operation.
  • Experience in process manufacturing environments, preferably pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or food & beverage.
  • Proficient in MES systems (SyncAID preferred) and integration methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of DeltaV DCS architecture, control modules, and batch processes.
  • Experience with database management, SQL, and OPC interfaces.
  • Familiarity with batch reporting, KPI monitoring, and production data analysis.
  • Understanding of automation network protocols, data historians, and IT/OT integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain SyncAID MES applications for production scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
  • Integrate MES with DeltaV DCS, ensuring real-time data flow, batch tracking, and process control synchronization.
  • Develop and maintain interface specifications, including OPC, SQL databases, and custom APIs, between MES and DCS systems.
  • Troubleshoot MES and DeltaV system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support validation, commissioning, and testing of MES-DCS interfaces.
  • Generate and maintain documentation, including system configuration, SOPs, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with process engineers, IT teams, and production staff to ensure MES workflows align with manufacturing requirements.
  • Monitor system performance, implement enhancements, and ensure compliance with GxP / FDA / ISO standards where applicable.
  • Provide training and support to production and operations personnel on MES functionality.
