JOB SUMMARY: The Manager will serve as a key member of the team’s leadership, playing a central role in assessing and executing 7‑Eleven’s Store Network Optimization initiatives. In this role, the Manager will oversee the annual wholesale site identification process and lead efforts to enhance asset optimization and retail-to-wholesale site transitions. Working closely with the Director, the Manager will assume increasing responsibility as they deepen their understanding of optimization workstreams. The Manager will coordinate vetting efforts with cross functional partners to confirm alignment on conversion stores annually. The Manager will be a key team member driving various weekly execution initiatives to ensure successful transition of portfolio of stores from retail to wholesale annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
  • 8+ years YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
  • Strategic decision making and assumption development
  • Evaluation of alternatives and generation of well supported conclusions on why stores should transition channels of trade
  • Ability to model and explain model outputs when evaluating stores from one channel of trade to another
  • Clear communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) when partnering with internal stakeholders and senior executives
  • Exceptional leadership skills across all levels, functions and workstreams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Work, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Highly Skilled in Excel and business analytics
  • Process and detail-oriented team member who is highly organized

Responsibilities

  • Store Network Optimization: Leadership and support of cross-functional leaders in Store Network Optimization & Portfolio Assessment
  • Analyze and evaluate the 7-Eleven store base to identify optimization opportunities in partnership with Directors and Network Planning & Town Planning.
  • Leadership and execution of in-industry divestitures and subleases as part of Store Network Optimization
  • Lead development of detailed site assessments, ensuring cross-functional partners understand key operational characteristics (e.g., diesel lanes, sub‑tenants, restaurants).
  • Provide clear input on economic assumptions for channel‑of‑trade modeling.
  • Lead the annual optimization program, incorporating cross‑functional feedback and driving execution of targeted transitions on accelerated timelines.
  • Interface effectively with all organizational levels, including Seven‑Eleven Japan and Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd.
  • Review and approve pro‑formas and valuation models for wholesale transitions and traditional Mergers & Acquisition opportunities.
  • Coordinate scenario and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Ensure alignment with Legal, Accounting, Operations, IT, Real Estate, SEI Fuels, HR, In‑House Maintenance, and other key stakeholders throughout each optimization wave.
  • Work closely with SEI Fuels market leaders and third‑party brokers to market sites and negotiate wholesale agreements that meet economic targets while balancing speed and strategic trade‑offs.
  • Provide technical support where needed, including working with Real Estate systems, internal financial systems, review of leases, and review of legal deal documents for site optimization
  • Develop, maintain and improve tracking tools to assess performance of historical site optimizations, primarily sites transitioned to the Commission Marketer channel of trade.
  • M&A and Acquisition Integration (Activated once the Manager has mastered optimization workflows)
  • Support review of transaction documents (CIMs, site assessments, characteristic lists, key contracts).
  • Assist in drafting LOIs for divestitures and acquisitions, in partnership with the SEI Legal team.
  • Contribute to interim period planning, due diligence, and acquisition integration as skillsets develop.
  • Support divestiture valuation, negotiation of sale terms, and management of transitions to new owners.
  • Participate in evaluating small acquisition opportunities, including valuation, contract negotiation, and cross‑functional alignment on assumptions.
  • Additional Strategic Contributions (As responsibilities expand)
  • Partner with various business lines, Business Development, and other teams to evaluate early‑stage or startup companies for strategic investments, partnerships, joint ventures, or acquisitions.
  • Lead cross‑functional analysis of strategic ventures, including financial and operational assessments, structuring, negotiation, and integration planning.
  • Provide technical support for M&A activities including Project Forum/Unifier, lease reviews, and third‑party contract assessments.
  • Develop and maintain tools to track performance of historical acquisitions and integration initiatives.
