About The Position

The Merchant Services Representative 2 is responsible for marketing a full suite of merchant solutions to clients including: point of sale, loyalty, data analytics, security & compliance, EMV compatibility, credit, debit, and various cloud-based business solution applications. The position will also be responsible for retaining clients by building relationships and growing portfolios through relationship management and cross consulting in Business Financial Centers, with Business and Wholesale Bankers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a financial services commission or incentive-based role.
  • Exceptional communication skills with superior sales, business development, partnerships, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in computer-based sales software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • At least $200,000 or higher credit card sales in previous years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively markets and sells merchant solutions and services while maintaining established individual production levels.
  • Generates leads and calls on prospective business clients; partners with Business Financial Centers, Business and Wholesale Bankers and other personnel to generate cross-sell opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with federal regulations on all product documentation.
  • Keeps current on product knowledge, competition, and on compliance issues related to merchant solutions and products.
  • Generally works with clients with revenue over $100,000 in annual payment card sales.
  • Partners with assigned Business Financial Center Manager and business or commercial banker to develop proposals for fee income products and services and make presentations regarding such to prospective business clients.
  • Answers questions and resolves problems for clients concerning all services provided by the Bank.
  • Identifies new prospects and revenue opportunities using referrals generated from business partners lead lists generated for assigned market.
  • Establishes relationships with key internal business partners and provides an overview of Merchant Solutions.
  • Exhibits an in-depth expertise of Merchant Solutions, value added services, and pricing models.
  • Responds promptly to prospect inquiries and requests and prepares proposals, letters, and presentations to merchant prospects as needed.
  • Provides regular updates and reports concerning prospect status, revenue and deal count achievement.
