As a Merchant of Furniture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our furniture offerings and ensuring our members receive the best value and experience. This position will work in Bentonville, Arkansas and report to the Senior Director of Merchandising.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support plans for a moderately complex category, oversee pricing and promotion strategies, and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Own decisions around channel strategy, make recommendations, drive channel alignment, and collaborate with the supply chain.
  • Manage profit and loss for the category, analyze daily business, identify execution levers, and make inventory-related decisions.
  • Support negotiation levers, drive price leadership, define negotiation cadence, and conduct supplier negotiations.
  • Own decisions on filtration rules for search results, develop attribution strategy, and recommend taxonomy.
  • Make customer-centric recommendations, understand customer behavior across channels, and guide suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage selection, performance, development, and terminations for the team, provide career guidance, and ensure compliance with company guidelines.
  • Support budget creation, develop financial forecasts, and determine inventory purchase amounts.
  • Resolve strategic supplier issues, support activity planning, and manage funds from trade funds.
  • Support and execute strategy decisions for monthly features across store and online channels.
  • Support item cross-referencing, decide on pack type and shipping channels, and manage content and imagery processes.
  • Decide modular layout principles, guide space allocation, and implement assortment strategy.
  • Leverage data analysis tools, develop and test hypotheses, and use visualization tools to influence decisions.
  • Own pricing decisions, manage COOPs agreements, and support markdowns.
  • Support private brand strategy, identify gaps and opportunities, and advise the packaging team.
  • Support decision-making based on performance, advise on fines and penalties, and guide on channel ratio and pack size decisions.
