About The Position

This full-time Merchandising Specialist position in Mount Prospect, Illinois, involves managing bakery product inventory and merchandising within a store location. Key duties include receiving deliveries, verifying invoices, breaking down pallets, conducting daily inventory counts, stocking and rotating products, and transferring surplus products to nearby locations. The role requires interaction with both store management and retail customers. Employees are primarily assigned to one location but must have their own reliable transportation for occasional product transfers, with mileage reimbursement provided. The work schedule is 6 days per week, including weekends, primarily morning hours (6 am-12 pm) with 2-3 afternoon shifts (3 pm-4 pm).

Requirements

• Must have their own transportation in order to drive surplus product to nearby locations occasionally
• Employees are required to provide proof of insurance and a valid drivers license at the time of hire
• Candidate must have reliable transportation because travel will be required
• Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 30 lbs
• Must be able to regularly bend and stop
• Must be able to work 6 days a week
• Must have prior Merchandising and Inventory experience

Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries into store location
• Balance and verify invoices, making any changes necessary
• Break down pallets (unloading boxes and trays)
• Complete inventory counts daily
• Stock and rotate bakery products on racks
• Transfer products to other locations in area, when needed
• Wrap/count empty trays for shipping pick-up
• Interaction with store level management
• Interacts with retail customer
