About The Position

Launch your career in retail merchandising planning at Sprouts Farmers Market with our Merchandising Rotational Program, designed to seamlessly transition recent college graduates into the corporate environment. This is a full-time role, based in Phoenix, for graduates within one year of graduation (August 2025 – May 2026). This entry-level position offers hands-on learning experience in analytics and merchandising strategy, providing exposure to how data supports revenue growth and business decision-making. As a Merchandising Specialist – University Program, you will contribute to analyzing merchandise performance, maintaining KPI accuracy, and delivering actionable insights through advanced reporting tools and dashboards. You will collaborate cross-functionally with merchandise planning, pricing, space planning, and category management teams while developing foundational skills in analytics, process improvement, and strategic thinking within a real-world merchandising environment. This program features an enhanced onboarding experience focused on corporate acclimation, including direct exposure to executive leadership, personalized mentor pairing, and an onboarding ambassador to guide you through your first months. Requirements

  • Obtain or be in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. (August 2025 – May 2026 graduates)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in retail, merchandising, and pricing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Rotational Learning: Participate in a structured rotational program, gaining exposure to various aspects of merchandise planning, including sales forecasting, inventory management, assortment planning, and financial analysis.
  • Enhanced Corporate Transition Onboarding:
  • Participate in a comprehensive onboarding program designed to ease the transition from academia to the corporate world, covering topics such as professional communication, time management, and company culture.
  • Engage in sessions with executive leadership to gain insights into the company’s strategic direction and operational priorities.
  • Be paired with an experienced mentor who will provide ongoing guidance, career development advice, and support.
  • Be assigned an onboarding ambassador, a peer mentor, who will provide day-to-day guidance, answer questions, and help you navigate the initial stages of your role.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing data to support sales forecasts, inventory targets and merchandise financial plans.
  • Partner with Category Managers to align merchandise plans with pricing, promotions, assortment strategies and space planning initiatives.
  • Generate and distribute recurring business reports, highlighting insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain and update financial models and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects by collecting data, tracking deliverables and reporting progress to stakeholders.
