The Merchandising Intern will gain hands-on experience across Peter Millar’s Direct-to-Consumer, Golf, Specialty, and Large Specialty Retail channels. This role provides exposure to product performance analysis, category trend evaluation, and identification of business opportunities. Positioned at the intersection of commercial strategy and creative execution, the intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support merchandising initiatives that drive brand growth and market impact.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret data and identify trends to support merchandising decisions.
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains accuracy in reporting, documentation, and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal skills for sharing insights and meeting notes.
  • Prioritizes tasks and meets deadlines in a dynamic setting.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to learning and contributing to projects.
  • Interest in apparel brands and the business of fashion.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Coursework or experience in merchandising, retail, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize sales and booking data to support seasonal line architecture development.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Planning, Creative, Marketing, and Design teams; prepare merchandising contributions and document key takeaways.
  • Observe and assist with selling analysis; take detailed notes and share insights with cross-functional partners, including Wholesale Sales.
  • Support deep-dive product and category analysis across channels to identify commercial opportunities; compile relevant information and imagery for merchandising initiatives.
