About The Position

As a Merchandising Operations Associate at SpaceX, you'll be at the heart of our mission to inspire the next generation of space explorers by curating an engaging retail experience that showcases our innovative merchandise and apparel. In this role, you'll support the daily store operations for our internal Hawthorne retail space, ensure seamless inventory flow, provide exceptional customer service, and create compelling displays that connect employees and visitors to the excitement of space exploration. By efficiently handling everything from stock replenishment to inventory management, you'll help foster a sense of wonder and community, directly supporting SpaceX's goal of making humanity multiplanetary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of professional experience in retail or customer service.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in business, retail management, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in a high-volume or specialty retail environment, with familiarity in inventory management.
• Proficiency with POS systems, basic Excel or retail software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with enthusiasm for space exploration.
• Experience in visual merchandising or product demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures and point-of-sale (POS) system operations to ensure seamless transactions.
• Receive, inspect, and organize incoming inventory shipments, verifying accuracy against orders and reporting any discrepancies.
• Oversee the backroom area by organizing stock, conducting regular inventory audits, and maintaining a clean and efficient storage environment.
• Restock the sales floor regularly to ensure products are attractively displayed, well-merchandised, and available for customers, following visual merchandising guidelines.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, answering inquiries about products, SpaceX missions, and store policies, and assisting with product recommendations.
• Maintain store cleanliness and presentation, including dusting displays, organizing fixtures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to identify opportunities for restocking or promotions and assist in forecasting future needs.
• Support loss prevention efforts by being vigilant for theft or irregularities and following established protocols.
• Participate in staff training sessions to stay updated on new products, company policies, and best practices in retail operations.
• Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
