About The Position

The position involves demonstrating thought leadership and acting as an ambassador for Data Driven Merchandising (DDM) initiatives, enabling data-driven decision making. The role requires analyzing merchandise performance across various levels, including department, cluster, vendor, item, and location. Responsibilities include supporting the documentation of strategic decisions related to pricing, promotions, and assortment, leveraging tools and reporting to provide insights on business unit merchandise performance, and visualizing data to communicate complex findings effectively. The candidate will work with cross-functional partners to identify gaps and improve DDM tools and processes, develop new tools and models, and support the annual DDM planning process. The role also involves maintaining professional knowledge through workshops and publications, contributing to team efforts to meet financial and key result area targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related field.
  • 2+ years of work experience in data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and email applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and data visualization platforms (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Experience with SQL is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize projects and tasks.
  • Outstanding analytic skills, logical reasoning, and data interpretation abilities.
  • Experience working with individuals from different organizational functions and levels.
  • Retail experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage tools and reporting to provide timely insights on business unit merchandise performance.
  • Organize, summarize, and visualize data into meaningful insights for non-analytical peers.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to identify gaps and make recommendations for DDM tools and processes.
  • Conceptualize and develop new, reusable tools and models for insights and recommendations.
  • Support the annual DDM planning process for the business unit.
  • Join the Global Analytical network to share experiences on data and analytics issues.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous education.
