About The Position

Hammond Lumber Company, voted 2025's Best Places to Work in Maine, is seeking a Full-Time Merchandiser/Inside Sales associate for our Old Town, Maine location.

Requirements

• Previous experience in customer service preferred
• Previous inventory control or warehouse experience preferred
• Ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Maintains and stocks retail store as assigned
• Performs inventory cycle counts and maintains adequate inventory levels
• Provides support for sales force which can include but is not limited to mixing paint, picking stock orders, etc.
• Dusts shelves and performs basic housekeeping functions such as trash removal, sweeping or vacuuming
• Places orders with Emery Waterhouse and other vendors as needed
• Responsible for waiting on customers in person, on the phone and via email
• Processes orders and quotes for building materials requested by customers as needed
• Position requires heavy lifting
