The Merchandise Planning & Allocation Intern will rotate between the allocation & merchandise planning teams to assist the planning department in managing inventory and markdown strategies to drive departmental sales, inventory, profit, and turnover objectives. The intern will execute allocation strategies by floor set to support store allocation needs and assist in pulling size selling analysis to help develop the breakdown of purchases by size for the Direct and Retail Store channels. The KnitWell Group Summer Internship Program welcomes the classes of 2026 and 2027 college students to work with several of our brands (Ann Taylor, Haven Well Within, LOFT, Talbots) and Corporate Shared Services to kick-start their career in retail. This immersive experience offers interns the opportunity to work hands-on with their department for 10-weeks and receive professional development opportunities including executive chats, professional workshops, and a store visit. The pay rate for the position is $20.00/hr. This internship position will be based out of our Talbots office location in Hingham, MA. Interns are expected to report to the office Monday through Thursday and may have the ability to work from home on Fridays depending on business needs. KnitWell Group does not offer housing near any of our corporate office locations. Participating students must have the ability to independently secure and finance housing in a commutable distance of the office location. Requirements

  • A love of numbers, data, and analytics
  • Experience working in Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookups)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must
  • Junior or senior (Class of 2026 and 2027)
  • Master’s students not eligible
  • Resume and portfolio (portfolios only needed for Design Applications)
  • Available June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
