Job Description: Job Summary Overseas and directs the support functions related to assigned divisions buying process, which includes pre buying strategy, buying process and on order management. Interviews, trains and develops staff. Reviews division’s support functions to identify and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong delegation and organizational skills
  • History of follow through and clear communication skills with client group
  • Ability to build relationships and influence client group
  • Flexibility, adaptability and comfort working in the gray
  • Strong training and assessment skills

  • Preferred knowledge of TJX applications and Microsoft office to include Excel

Responsibilities

  • Partners with merchants and staff to manage current workload
  • Utilizes available business tools to gauge business climate and anticipate future workload
  • Partners with supervisor staff to allocate staff, workload and training needs
  • Establishes divisional processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work
  • Attends business meetings and market travel when necessary
  • Responsible for overseeing divisions inbound on-order
  • Interviews and makes recommendations on staffing needs
  • Partners with Manager on recommendation on staffing allocation
  • Helps support on the job training and transitions new hires
  • Provides career counseling, 1:1 coaching, assists with networking and mentorship for staff
  • Partner with associates to develop IDPs and career growth
  • Partners with Manager on corrective action process
  • Conducts performance evaluations and makes merit recommendations
  • Manages payroll and follows through on Wage and Hour policies
  • Manages associate engagement activities
  • Participates in company initiatives, projects and systems enhancements that effect merchandising
  • Liaison for other departments that require merchandising assistance
  • Liaison for counterparts in sister divisions
