About The Position

The Merchandise Manager – SLA is responsible for driving financial performance and competitive positioning for the SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) and Backup Power category, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions, across in-store and digital channels. This role supports the development and execution of category strategies, assortment plans, pricing models, vendor partnerships, and new product introductions. The Merchandise Manager partners cross-functionally to ensure merchandising initiatives align with company objectives, market trends, and customer needs to grow market share and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in merchandising, category management, product management, or retail planning
  • Experience supporting technical, application-driven, or commercially focused product categories preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data visualization or BI tools (e.g., Looker) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies for the SLA and Backup Power portfolio that support financial targets, growth initiatives, and customer experience goals
  • Build and manage assortment plans, including new product introductions and product lifecycle decisions
  • Analyze category performance using key metrics such as sales, margin, inventory turns, and GMROI
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities
  • Support pricing, promotional, and forecasting strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with Sourcing to support vendor relationships, negotiations, and cost structures
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of product information and merchandising across in-store and digital touchpoints
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Demand Planning, Store Operations, E-Commerce, and Training to drive execution and category adoption
