About The Position

At Five Below, the Merchandise Manager oversees the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock, ensuring efficient placement on the sales floor. This role involves managing the setup and maintenance of store displays, ensuring accurate signage and proper highlighting of promotions according to corporate guidelines for resets and seasonal updates. The manager is responsible for the entire store opening or closing process, including securing cash, locking doors, and setting alarms. They act as Manager on Duty when required, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issue resolution. The position also involves overseeing daily activities of store associates, supporting their onboarding and training in store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures. A key aspect is driving store sales and controlling expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service, and executing the market plan by arranging products and signage according to corporate guidelines. The Merchandise Manager also ensures the execution of the company's Inventory Integrity process. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

  • Oversees the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor
  • Manages the setup and maintenance of displays for specific store sections, ensuring signage is accurate and promotions are properly highlighted, following corporate guidelines for resets and seasonal updates.
  • Manages the entire process of opening or closing the store, which includes securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring everything is in place for a smooth daily operation.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing any urgent issues.
  • Helps oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they are performing their duties effectively and providing excellent customer service.
  • Supports the onboarding and ongoing training of associates, helping them learn store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures to improve their performance.
  • Drives store sales and controls expenses: Actively seeks ways to boost sales by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
  • Executes the market plan by arranging products and signage according to corporate guidelines, ensuring promotional materials are displayed properly and updated regularly.
