About The Position

We’re looking for a Merchandising Manager, Upholstered Furniture to join our growing team. In this role, you will scale Quince’s upholstered furniture (sofas, sectionals, accent chairs, ottomans, etc.) offering, owning the assortment, pricing, and profitability end to end. You’ll combine product intuition with data-driven decision-making to build a high-performing assortment that delights customers and accelerates Quince's growth. Success in this position means driving exceptional growth in the Upholstered Furniture category by delivering an assortment that balances data-driven insights with great product instinct – meeting customer needs, achieving margin and revenue targets, and strengthening Quince’s reputation for luxury-quality goods at accessible prices.This role plays a critical part in expanding the Quince home assortment offering and Quince’s broader mission. Our goal is to find the best products in the marketplace and connect the makers of these goods directly to the customers who want them. Quince has proven the consumer value proposition in the apparel and accessories categories, especially within the men’s sweaters space and has built a loyal, repeat consumer base. We want to build on that value proposition and continue to scale the Men's and Women’s category in both existing and new product classes. Quince's growth and success is directly tied to the performance and success of this role. Requirements

  • 7-10 years of retail merchandising experience in the upholstered furniture category, preferably with luxury expertise
  • E-commerce experience and/or DTC experience preferred
  • Proven track record of progressing within an organization and demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilities
  • Product obsessed with experience in leveraging data tools and external sources
  • Critical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the “science” and “art” of retail merchandising)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes and brand enhancement
  • Continuous learner and highly curious; always open to considering new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated by working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, where flexibility to stretch into or out of functional comfort zones is crucial for team success
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Role is based in San Francisco California, with 3 days per week in office requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Launch 100 new upholstered furniture products, including additional MTO upholstery collections, frames with a more distinct style POV, and new product types such as ottomans, chaises and daybeds
  • Drive $100M in revenue, with >40% total revenue coming from new products and variants
  • Maintain average product rating >4.7
  • Revise assortment architecture and product launch roadmap for upholstered furniture, including refreshing target SKU count by product type, determining new product launch cadence, defining key competitors across price and style tiers, solidifying pricing strategy, and right-sizing mix of MTO vs ready-to-ship
  • Leveraging data for ratings, reviews, and return rates, conduct quality improvements for existing upholstered furniture products
  • Partner with logistics team to continuously optimize end-to-end delivery experience
  • Build new upholstered furniture site merchandising strategy, including PDP improvements (determining how to articulate the details that matter, enhanced imagery & content needs, more robust customer expectations, product storytelling) and top nav and filter optimizations; propose collections shopping experience if applicable
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners, particularly Sourcing, Planning, and Marketing, to ensure products are in stock, we are driving traffic to key products, and we are effectively leveraging our factory partners
  • Develop category marketing strategy to ensure we capture and retain relevant customers
