Merchandise Manager – Device Repair & Accessories The Merchandise Manager is responsible for driving financial performance, assortment strategy, and competitive positioning for assigned product categories across in-store and digital channels, with a primary focus on the core phone screen repair business and the expansion of phone and laptop assortments . This role supports the development and execution of category strategies, pricing models, vendor partnerships, and new product introductions while collaborating cross-functionally to optimize DR, improve execution, and enhance the customer and franchisee experience. This position plays a critical role in ensuring Batteries Plus remains a trusted destination for device repair and related products by aligning merchandising decisions with market trends, operational realities, and customer needs.

  • Develop and execute category strategies for phone screen repair, phone accessories, and laptop-related assortments that support financial targets, growth initiatives, and customer experience goals
  • Own assortment planning for assigned categories, including expansion of phone and laptop offerings , SKU rationalization, and product lifecycle management
  • Analyze category performance using key metrics such as sales, margin, inventory turns, GMROI, and DR-related indicators to drive continuous improvement
  • Partner cross-functionally to optimize DR , addressing product quality, vendor performance, repair success rates, and return drivers
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify trends, innovation opportunities, and gaps within the device repair and accessory space
  • Support pricing, promotional, and forecasting strategies in collaboration with Demand Planning, Marketing, and Sales teams
  • Collaborate closely with Sourcing to manage vendor relationships, negotiations, cost structures, and product quality standards
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of product information, repair compatibility, and merchandising execution across in-store and digital channels
  • Partner with Store Operations, Training, E-Commerce, and Marketing to ensure new products, repairs, and initiatives are executed effectively at the store level
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in merchandising, category management, product management, or retail planning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple cross-functional teams
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting technical, repair-based, or device-related product categories is strongly preferred
  • Experience with data visualization or BI tools (e.g., Looker) is a plus
