About The Position

The Durham Bulls are one of Minor League Baseball’s most iconic franchises, known for exceptional fan experiences and a vibrant ballpark atmosphere. The Merchandise trainee plays a key role in bringing that experience to life by helping fans take home a piece of the Bulls tradition. The Merchandise Intern supports the retail operations of the Durham Bulls by assisting with inventory management, product merchandising, customer service, and game-day store operations. The intern will learn effective sales techniques that ensure fans receive high-quality shopping experience that reflect the team’s brand and values throughout the stadium and e-commerce platforms.

Strong customer-service mindset; organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and all home events
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; adaptable to feedback, changing priorities, and tight deadlines
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, especially in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with the daily operations, including merchandising, stocking, inventory and management of seasonal staff.
Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Deliver excellent customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and providing product recommendations.
Maintain organized and visually appealing product displays according to merchandising standards.
Stock shelves, restock items as needed during events, and ensure all merchandise is properly tagged and priced.
Participate in receiving shipments, counting inventory, and updating inventory records.
Support retail needs during home games, special events, and promotional activities on both game and non-game days throughout the year.
Assist with crowd flow, line management, and maintaining a clean and safe retail environment.
Uphold the Durham Bulls’ brand by maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Communicate product and brand knowledge to enhance our fan experience.
