About The Position

NOTE: This position is located at Nordstrom’s downtown Seattle headquarters and follows a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and one remote workday each week. The Nordstrom Merchandising Group (NMG) blends creativity and analytics to deliver the products that help our customers feel good and look their best. As a customer‑centric organization, NMG is responsible for planning, buying, pricing, and delivering merchandise across all Nordstrom channels—including Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores, digital platforms, and off‑price experiences. We have an opportunity for Merchandise Financial Planner to join the team. A day in the life… Incorporate departmental merchandise strategies within the creation of financial plans Effectively balance objective information with subjective inputs to give guidance for merchandising teams Develop demand plans for the Direct Channel through to net sales, incorporating returns and transfer impacts to all channels within the company Develop the mid-level merchandise financial plan at channel Develop the location level sales plans and establish inventory turns by store at each half to generate original plan stock to sales and inventory targets Review and re-project merchandise financial plans per the corporate cadence in season Act as a change leader to support company initiatives and ensure adoption by merchandising team Advocate for financial disciplines and inventory efficiency while working with the buyer and buy planner to support the execution of the merchandise strategy

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a retail merchandising Planner, Financial Planner, or equivalent role
  • Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred)
