About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator at TJ Maxx, a part of TJX Companies, is responsible for upholding receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring efficient processing by Associates, and delivering an excellent customer experience. This role involves training and mentoring Associates on merchandising principles, managing the flow of merchandise from delivery to the sales floor, and maintaining store organization, cleanliness, and safety standards. The Coordinator is expected to foster a positive work environment, promote honesty and integrity, and support store initiatives such as shrink reduction and customer loyalty programs. Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail

1 year retail experience
6 months of leadership experience

Responsibilities

Executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
Ensuring an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store
Role modeling exceptional customer service
Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintaining confidentiality
Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
Monitoring productivity of team and coaches as necessary
Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
Promoting credit and loyalty programs
Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
Promoting safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
Other duties as assigned
