The Merchandise Coordinator at TJ Maxx is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively, and fostering teamwork. This role is crucial for delivering an excellent customer experience through engaging interactions and maintaining a clean, organized store. The coordinator is expected to role model exceptional customer service, promote a culture of honesty, and maintain confidentiality. Key duties include orchestrating truck deliveries, prioritizing merchandise processing to the sales floor, and training and mentoring Associates on merchandising principles. They ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicate with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient goods flow. The role also involves monitoring team productivity, organizing back stock, upholding merchandising and signage standards, and maintaining cleanliness in the backroom. Compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, labor laws, policies, and procedures is also a responsibility. The coordinator provides and accepts feedback, partners with management on training needs, promotes credit and loyalty programs, supports shrink reduction goals, and maintains a safe environment.
