About The Position

The Merchandise Associate/Cash Office role at HomeGoods involves delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Associates may also be cross-trained in different areas of the store to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Possesses excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Works effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Retail customer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
  • Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store as needed.
  • Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
  • Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and count change back to customers.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs.
  • Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established procedures and standards.
  • Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company standards.
  • Participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
  • Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
  • Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
  • Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
