About The Position

The Mechanical/Electrical Superintendent is responsible for coordinating the scheduling and installation of various mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. This role involves overseeing project timelines, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and facilitating communication among subcontractors to ensure successful project completion.

Requirements

  • Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of Mechanical OR 5 years of Start-Up and Commissioning experience
  • Extensive field construction experience at supervisory level
  • Technical background in electrical/mechanical trades
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws
  • Contractual background
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify, address and solve jobsite problems
  • Knowledge of craft labor assignments

  • Experience with VDC processes
  • Familiarity with various mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing sequences of installation for mechanical and electrical components
  • Establish milestones for completion of various systems
  • Establish testing schedules for subcontractors' components
  • Maintain shop drawing and submittal schedules
  • Monitor compliance with all schedules
  • Establish job close-out schedules and procedures
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance
  • Coordinate scope among all trades
  • Review preliminary estimates and schedules for accuracy
  • Review subcontractor budgets and proposals
  • Facilitate VDC processes as applicable
  • Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings
  • Monitor on-site work for compliance with contract requirements
  • Inspect off-site equipment and materials for payment requests
  • Assist Project Manager with change order requests
  • Document final close-out and Owner's acceptance
  • Travel as required by management
  • Supervise multiple projects over a large geographic area
