About The Position

This role focuses on providing technical solutions, leadership, and management for the delivery and implementation of facility management processes and solutions on mission-critical projects such as government facilities and hospitals. The position supports the start-up and commissioning processes for projects located in San Diego County. This is a permanent role.

Requirements

  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Cloud.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in commercial construction with an MEPF/building controls contractor, general contractor, and/or Cx agency.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Facilities Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Management, Engineering, or MEP.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues effectively in written and oral formats.
  • Function as part of a high-performance team.
  • Strong working knowledge of facilities operations and building systems.
  • Collaborative work in a mobile environment.
  • Software proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to recognize, troubleshoot, document, and optimize facilities processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial data relating to facilities.
  • Understanding of critical facility environments, including hospitals, airports, and data centers.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.

  • Broad multi-discipline experience across multiple market segments (healthcare, airports, schools, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  • Practical knowledge of MEPF systems: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Building Controls.

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and willing to travel between projects in California.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Certifications such as CXA, BCxP, PE, OSHA 10/30 are advantageous.
  • Ability to build schedules independently is a bonus.
  • Previous experience in commissioning or construction management roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support all MEPF systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Building Controls) across a portfolio of 15-25 projects.
  • Collaborate with commissioning and project management teams to understand, interpret, and execute project schedules (Primavera P6).
  • Interface professionally with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Travel as needed to project sites within California; manage own schedule and work split between field and office (~50/50 baseline, varies by project phase).
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise and support for project execution, troubleshooting, and verification of MEPF systems.
  • Contribute to process improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Interface, coordinate, and directly manage the associated MEPF trade partners through plan development, inspections, and the Cx testing process.
  • Competency surrounding the utilization of all standard MEPF/building controls testing procedures and applicable tools and equipment.
  • Manage a team of individuals to deliver the Operational Project Readiness (OPR) and be the primary driver of the Commissioning Management (CxM) services on multiple projects.
  • Review contract documents for program/project understanding, constructability, operability, and functionality requirements.
  • Develop a project-specific commissioning plan and project execution plan.
  • Develop and maintain Cx schedule based on CPM milestones.
  • Establish testing/certification requirements for each piece of equipment for documentation management.
  • Review Level 2 and 3 Cx Scripts.
  • Oversee implementation of Cx progress visual tracking/status tools.
  • Develop agenda and lead project Cx team meetings.
  • Documentation of MEPF equipment inspections and testing.
  • Track and drive issue resolution to support the start-up and commissioning process.
  • Oversee management and document control of Cx progress via the commissioning software platform.
  • Coordinate and manage Level 4/5 Cx testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
