The MEP Superintendent at Turner Construction Co. is responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating the work of subcontractors and trade labor related to mechanical and electrical systems in construction projects. This role ensures safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance while supervising Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage project operations effectively and resolve issues that arise on-site.

  • Lead and coordinate the work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor regarding mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Manage scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels for trades.
  • Resolve local area problems related to procedures, design clarifications, and labor adequacy.
  • Oversee the site safety program and ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
  • Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns, including performance appraisals.
  • Create schedules and implement recovery strategies to maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Communicate with owners and architects/engineers regarding field issues and resolutions.
  • Manage billing processes related to work completed and oversee payrolls and invoices.
  • Ensure work is installed in compliance with contract documents and specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineers on mechanical and electrical systems and layouts.
  • Lead project inspections, startup, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier activities for conformance with plans and codes.
  • Review project changes with the Project Engineer.
  • Maintain detailed daily records of trade contractors' work progress.
  • Participate in preconstruction efforts such as constructability and logistics.
  • Bachelor's degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience.
  • Minimum of six years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of building construction, scheduling, and cost control procedures.
  • Specific knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of building information modeling for system coordination.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to interpret contract documents and specifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with large-scale data center projects.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
  • Certifications related to construction management or safety.
