The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance of MEP systems within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. This role involves overseeing the implementation of quality control processes, facilitating cross discipline coordination, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful integration and functionality of MEP systems in projects.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control plans and procedures specific to MEP systems, in alignment with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Monitor the adherence of MEP designs to established quality control processes and specifications.
  • Identify and document defects, deviations, and non-compliance issues related to MEP systems within design, meeting notes, scope of work and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, reviews, and findings.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing review outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with MEP Team and Project manager to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within overall project design.
  • Participate in coordination meetings to address potential conflicts and ensure effective MEP system placement.
  • Continuously assess and refine MEP quality control processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and system performance.
  • Propose and implement improvements based on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate project teams about MEP quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building codes throughout MEP installations.
  • Proven experience in MEP quality control or a similar role within the AEC industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of MEP systems, equipment, installation practices, and industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, etc.).
  • Proficient in using MEP-related software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certifications related to MEP quality control, such as CQM (Certified Quality Manager) or equivalent, are advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or experience in the on-site construction management is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
