Bradford Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to support construction oversight activities for a large-scale public building renovation project in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will have strong field experience with electrical systems, fire alarm systems, and telecommunications installations, and will be comfortable working in an active construction environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience pertaining to performing MEP or Electrical inspections on construction projects.
  • Strong field experience with electrical, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, industry standards, and inspection procedures.
  • Strong written communication skills for reporting.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively with project team.
  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on public sector and/or large institutional projects preferred.
  • Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MEP inspections to verify conformance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
  • Inspect installation of electrical, fire alarm, telecommunications, and related MEP systems.
  • Document inspection findings and prepare detailed field reports, including deficiencies and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and project team to support day-to-day field supervision.
  • Monitor contractor work progress and compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and inspection-related documentation as required.
  • Participate in site meetings and coordination efforts with contractors and consultants.
  • Support project reporting and maintain accurate inspection records.
