Responsibilities Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Gather and analyze project documents and specifications to determine the scope of work. Create accurate cost estimates and proposals for mechanical and electrical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection. Calculate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction projects. Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing and scope of work. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop construction schedules and budgets. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information and assess project requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred) Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems, etc. is essential. General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing required. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines. Proven experience with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
