We’re looking for an MEP Engineer Intern to join our MEP/Building Systems team. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing evaluations within existing buildings, with a strong focus on investigations, feasibility studies, and MEP system upgrades. You’ll support project leaders in developing drawings, documenting field conditions, conducting site inspections, and assisting with reports. This internship is designed for emerging engineers seeking real world experience in building systems design, diagnostics, and construction administration in a fast paced consulting environment.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of aBachelor’sprogram in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Foundational knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing).
  • Proficiencyin AutoCAD orequivalent 2D modeling software.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and contributeinafast pacedenvironment.
  • Interestedin existing building systems, field investigations, and engineeringproblem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or project experience related to mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering.
  • Familiarity with field measurement, building system documentation, or site observation.
  • Exposure toBluebeam, Revit, or engineering calculation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assistproject leaders across various project types and phases under direct supervision.
  • Support engineering tasks using prescribed methods and learning industry best practices.
  • Conduct basic research to support MEP system evaluations andproblem-solving.
  • Participate actively in ateam oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Prepare project documents with guidance, including meeting minutes, field reports, project specifications, hand sketches, and construction drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Create new drawings and make revisions based on field conditions and design direction.
  • Write clear,well-organizedtechnical letters and reports.
  • Organize andmaintainproject files, notes, and photographs.
  • Participate in building site inspections of MEP systems in various environments, including roofs, mechanical rooms, basements, and areas accessed via lifts or scaffolding.
  • Take field measurements and convert them intoaccurateelectronic drawings.
  • Document site findings and communicate observations to the project leader to support troubleshooting and planning.
  • With guidance,observecontractor work for adherence to project specifications and drawings, and report discrepancies as needed.
