About The Position

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Electrical Engineer with a strong healthcare focus to expand our MEP practice in Orange, CA and throughout Southern California!

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in project types noted above.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Experience and expertise with HCAi/OSHPD codes, permitting process, and regulations.
  • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analysis of power, lighting and fire alarm systems for healthcare, infrastructure, and commercial projects.
  • Responsible for the review and development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, photometric and fault current calculations, project specifications and one-line diagrams.
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices.
  • Assist Project Managers/Practice Builders with the development of large/complex proposals and lead proposal development for small and medium sized project opportunities.
  • Support the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country.
  • Mentor junior Electrical staff in local office and the Southern California region.
  • Assist Project Managers/Practice Builders in executing projects profitably and staffing appropriate technical team members.
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the Electrical practice area.
