About The Position

Dialectic, Inc is a full-service mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design and consulting firm with Headquarters located in the Crossroads of Kansas City, Missouri. Dialectic has a reputation for delivering inventive, flexible, and sustainable MEP designs for clients across the US. We are looking to add a Part-Time MEP Designer to our team. This position is an in-office role and will collaborate with staff to create accurate technical drawings. This role will also contribute to the overall design process for our MEP Engineering firm which focuses on the design of systems for business, retail, housing, education, and entertainment industries. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
  • Experience with industry standard software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and how they interact.
  • Demonstrates moderate office computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of local codes and amendments, with the ability to interpret and apply the codes system designs and calculations.
  • An established understanding of building structures, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and how they interact.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Assess project conditions requirements against information provided and communicate these findings required to the client.
  • Review local building code, utility, and landlord information to determine location specific design requirements.
  • Attend client meetings with project managers and senior staff, continuing to grow relationships with staff and clients
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to improve technical knowledge
  • Grow knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office products
