About The Position
The MEP Coordinator at Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors plays a crucial role in supporting project teams throughout the various design phases of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) systems. This position is essential for ensuring that all MEP/FP systems are reviewed for constructability and quality, allowing for the identification of potential challenges and opportunities early in the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one or more of the MEP/FP systems and some experience in estimating, which will be beneficial in providing valuable insights during pre-construction meetings and throughout the planning and design phases. In this role, the MEP Coordinator will actively participate in pre-construction meetings, offering opinions and suggestions that contribute to the overall project strategy. The responsibilities include reviewing design documents at each phase, preparing contractor scope sheets, estimates, and managing requests for information (RFIs), change orders, submittals, and construction schedules. Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors is vital, as is building their interest for future bids. The MEP Coordinator will also track construction progress, assist in MEP start-up and commissioning, and support in-house VDC/BIM and quality control teams. Additionally, the MEP Coordinator will conduct quality workshops using lessons learned and continue to refine the MEP/FP quality control program. Participation in quarterly operations meetings is also expected, ensuring that the MEP Coordinator remains aligned with the company's goals and objectives while contributing to the overall success of the projects.
