About The Position

The Mentoring Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri is responsible for building the overall success of the Mentoring Program, which supports male youth aged 10-13 and their families. This role involves coordinating and executing mentoring sessions, ensuring consistency with the organization's strategy, and fostering meaningful relationships through one-on-one mentoring and group activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related work experience preferred; or a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar field is required.
  • Knowledge of K-12 school and resource landscape.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) and other relevant software.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, including time management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with a variety of staff and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the Mentoring Program by enrolling youth and families, ensuring weekly one-on-one sessions with each assigned mentee.
  • Check in monthly with parents and conduct home visits as needed.
  • Lead and organize mentoring meetings and activities for all mentees.
  • Set youth-led goals with each mentee and support their progress.
  • Work with community champions and the Mentoring Program Director to plan activities for youth.
  • Document challenges and successes for youth in the agency's data management system, Matchforce.
  • Collaborate with local schools and non-profits to support youth and families in the program.
  • Communicate and coordinate with agency staff to provide resources to students and families.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and position-specific trainings.
  • Develop documentation and processes for supporting the program and its participants.
