To ensure full consideration for a staff position, please attach a resume to your application so we can gain a complete view of your experiences Peckham Inc. - Youth Mentoring Specialist MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Provide an orientation and training program to train mentors and youth. · Support mentors in creating and updating Individual Mentoring Plans for each participating student. · Establish a culture with the youth to set weekly goals and inspire youth through strength-based activities · Collect mentor logs and document interactions · Provide interviewing and criminal background checks on all mentors and complete each mentors on-boarding process · Set-up and maintain program files for each mentor and mentee · Provide support to new mentors and new mentees · Build a strong network with community partners and stakeholders to expand and enhance mentoring program · Host family engagement events, mentor/mentee events, and recruiting events · Develop and supervise programming for youth (leadership skills class once per week) · Write detailed treatment plans, observation notes, and interim reports · Create lesson plans and deliver thought out curriculum to students in classroom setting · Communicate regularly with stakeholders and community partners · Network with community partners to develop give-back projects and Talent Tours for youth · Maintain each student’s case file with regular case notes and updated treatment plans · Develop and maintain a robust data tracking tool OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Perform follow-up surveys to measure customer satisfaction and program outcomes. · Maintain safe and clean work environment · Promote Peckham’s vision values and services to all customers and stakeholders · Assist in maintaining organizational wide quality standards · Be a strong team player which includes sharing ideas, supporting each other, and over-all care about the success of everyone around you · Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES · This position will not have direct supervisory responsibilities · Develop a unified team that reflects Peckham’s culture and values · Provide mentorship and coaching MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS · Pass and maintain a successful background check · 5 years of experience working with youth · Have clean driving record PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Experience in working with mentor programs, and/or experience in working with adjudicated youth desired · Bachelors degree with a minimum of 2 years experience working with youth · Experience planning events PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities on a case-by-case basis.
