The Mental Health Worker position involves assisting licensed nursing staff (RN, LVN, or Charge RN) in providing and documenting patient care, including activities of daily living, for adult and geriatric patients. This role supports unit functions, maintains a safe and clean environment, and acts as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team, communicating pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. The worker also performs some clerical duties and provides basic nursing care, adhering to Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy, and state regulatory and accrediting requirements. For outpatient settings, the role specifically entails carrying out activities of daily living programs and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, RN, and Program Director.
