About The Position

Under the supervision of a Clinical Coordinator for  Families Forward Crisis Services, staff serving Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic individuals in need of specialized behavioral health service providing a supportive atmosphere to children experiencing acute mental health crisis and their families. Provides assistance to therapist and interacts with consumers in a short term crisis intervention program. Duties include a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with children experiencing behavioral health crisis. Some youth and family skill based groups. Transportation of consumers and families possible. Responsible for maintaining a secure environment. Data collection. Services will be provided in the office, on the CSU unit, community and consumer’s home. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.is required.
  • A minimum of six months’ experience with emotionally impaired children and families is required.
  • Expectation of a varied schedule to include afternoon, evening, and weekend hours.
  • Person must be able to work cooperatively with others and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to re-certify in CPR/First Aide each year following employment.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.
  • Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record, and pass a Central Registry Screening annually.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
