About The Position

Riverview Psychiatric Center seeks Mental Health Workers to provide paraprofessional support work involving the direct care, rehabilitation, and behavior modification of patients in state institutions. Responsibilities include implementing programs in the treatment and education of individuals with mental illness, providing direct patient care, and maintaining patient areas. Employees may act as group leader of primary aide over an assigned group of patients. Work is performed under general supervision. Riverview Psychiatric Center , in collaboration with the community, is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Hospital leaders have worked hard to implement changes and establish quality measures of distinction. To continue our goal of becoming a leader within the Behavioral Health field, we are looking for candidates who work well in a team and are enthusiastic and dedicated to providing compassionate care. We hold accreditation's by CMS and the Joint Commission. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dedicated to promoting health, safety, resilience, and opportunity for Maine people. The Department provides health and social services to approximately a third of the State's population, including children, families, older Mainers, and individuals with disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders. The Department also promotes public health, operates two state psychiatric hospitals, and provides oversight to health care providers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of direct care mental health experience.
