About The Position

The Mental Health Worker II at Telecare Corporation plays a crucial role in providing direct care and support to adults with severe mental illness in an inpatient setting. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience working with the severely and persistently mentally ill population.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of psychology or sociology and care of the mentally ill.
  • Ability to interact effectively with nursing personnel, healthcare team members, patients, and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a mental health rehabilitation setting.
  • Familiarity with Professional Assault Response Training (PART) principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective, and efficient implementation of direct care according to established policies and standards.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients, acting as a role model in problem-solving and coping with mental illness.
  • Participate in community meetings and assist in rehabilitation therapy groups and activities.
  • Admit and discharge clients as assigned, completing associated documentation.
  • Collect specimens and obtain vital signs as assigned.
  • Assist clients during mealtime by distributing meal trays and providing feeding assistance when needed.
  • Participate as a team member, providing input and reporting observations during multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Observe, record, and report client social and psychiatric behavior, assisting in client care plan assessments.
  • Promote and assist clients in developing self-help skills and explain policies to clients and their families.
